Chris has been researching, writing and budgeting
Federal, state, and foundation grant programs since the
year 2000. During that time he has experienced an
exceptional rate of success, having won millions of
dollars in funding for a wide range of projects in the
areas of homeland security, public safety, fire, code
enforcement, economic development, environmental
protection, revolving loan programs, recreation,
technology, youth crime prevention, education and
historic preservation. He has been particularly
successful with EPA Brownfields programs and Department
of Defense scientific grants for colleges and
universities, for which he has a 100 percent award rate.
He has worked on behalf of dozens of cities, counties,
special districts and community-based organizations
throughout the nation, and particularly California.
Prior to grant writing and consulting, he was an
educator at Lake Arrowhead Christian School, teaching
U.S. history, government & economics, geography and
mathematics. He was also a leader in after-school
programs. Chris holds a Bachelors degree in Political
Science from California State University, San
Bernardino, and is involved as a volunteer with several
501(c)(3) non-profit organizations including the C.S.
Lewis Foundation where he participated in
writing-related conferences at Oxford and Cambridge
Universities. For the San Gorgonio Pass Historical
Society he provided fundraising consulting, press
release and grant proposal development, and for Hughes
Rehabilitation Services he provided extensive
quality/peer review for a variety of writing projects.
Chris’s knowledge of a wide array of complex grant
topics, combined with superb writing skill make him a
valuable asset to Harvest’s leadership.
